Beyond Reach

by Beyond Reach

Beyond Reach represents a true "pop" cornucopia. Their debut combines so many aesthetic elements that finding a pigeon hole for putting this CD in to, would not only be an injustice to their music but would also be next to impossible.

Album Notes
Randle Chowning and Larry Lee were two of the founding members of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Randle was the lead vocalist and guitarist on the bands first hit "If You Wanna' Get To Heaven" and Larry co-wrote and sang the groups best known song, "Jackie Blue". Reunited once again after twenty-five years, the two have spent the past three years creating this new music together. It's fresh, bold and a truly rich listening experience. It's music that until now has been just beyond reach.

This CD is full of music that is reminiscent of the likes of the Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and even a bit of Peter Gabriel. If that sounds like the recipe for your musical delights, then this CD could be just what you're looking for.

Songs for the heart
Larry Lee and Randle Chowning are two of pop music's most poetic songwriters. Together again as Beyond Reach, they continue creating toe-tapping songs to lift the heart. Each time I listen to the CD I come away with a new favorite song. I am planning on giving at least two CDs for Christmas presents and would highly recommend others make the purchase and be ready to enjoy.

I agree with everything Randle's aunt said, but I'm not related! Beyond Reach is, lyrically and musically, the best thing I've heard in a long time. You Can't Give Enough is a classic. And Invisible Man is perfect--sweet vocals by LL, nice slide guitar, great production.

Brilliantly crafted songs from the heart! Songs that have substance and stir emotions. I especially like What I need is your love, My Old Band, House of Blues, and When God Made Love. A real Gem!

Love It
I ordered two of these cd's for Christmas gifts. I love it so much! Great songs, great sound, so mellow... and I think my favorite song on it is When God Made Love. Also like All I need is your Love. Thank you so much. I'm happy to share it with others.

I have been a die-hard Ozarks fan for 30+ years, which is why I ordered Beyond Reach in the first place. It is nothing like OMD's music, but it is every bit as good! Larry and Randle write beautiful songs and I hope to hear more of their efforts in the future.

Fantabulous CD! Grabbed me from the first note......
....and rocked and rolled me all the way through! What wonderful songs sung by those familiar mellow voices. A hint of the D-Devils' flavor can be heard in the stories within the songs. A true masterpiece from 2 wizards of sound!!

Good - better - this album!
I actually got 'cause of song #2 - The drum, and I didn't have a clue about what kind of music I could expect. I have now had the pleasure to listen to the complete album a couple of times - maybe that sould be: a lot, and this is a masterpiece. The soft start - obviously called "Prelude" moves over to a faster track - The Drum - and after that it continues on a slower pace. For me - not having english as my first languange - I needed to run it once or twice extra. The melodies are beautiful and the lyrics triggers quite a few thoughts. Besides the song "the Drum" song #3: What I need is your love, is a very beautiful song that at present is #1 on my personal hitlist! Thanks for giving us this album and - when can we expect another one?

Beyond Reach

I received my cds in very timely fashion and love them.
I love the Beyond Reach cd as it is for all tastes...I happen to be in the Senior category and I love all of it...and have passed the cds on and so far all ages (42, 30 and not telling) and they love it!!! Randle happens to be my nephew but that had nothing to do with my evaluation..!!

Fresh - New - Original
Following CDBaby's instructions to "keep it short", all I can say is that if you have not bought this CD, do so immediately. It doesn't bring back memories of OMD, the VK's or anyone for that matter. The music here is original, fresh, well-produced, and just a joy to listen to.

Amazing 'follower' of the 1980 Ozark-Album
One of these rare CDs on which each song is brillant. Thanks to cdbaby for giving me the opportunity to order it. No chance here in Germany!!!And thanks to Larry and Randle for the excellent songs and the electrifying sound of your voices!
