Childhood Holiday #1

by Big Bad Carbon

BIG BAD CARBON The project is the songwriting vehicle for Dale Hagger, who draws upon a nomadic existence as a Forces child and experiences as a frontline NHS worker as his song writing muse, having previously drummed in the rhythm section of various Lincoln acts with bassist, producer and decade long collaborator Gaz B. MUSIC The songs form into urgent, lean three minute documents, snapshots of the bands peculiar set of influences, from Dale’s childhood exposure to XTC,1980’s top 40, and an unhealthy teenage Nirvana obsession to Gaz’s love of leftfield Rap, Black Grape, The Fall and Massive Attack. Subtle genre hops and every trick from the pages of rocks handbook provide the foundation for eulogies on themes as diverse as Americanisation of UK culture, and the turns of the female psyche.
