Album Notes
Big Blu Soul Revue brings the soul of San Francisco to their music. The band shares an extreme passion for the music of 60’s and 70’s soul, funk and jazz, with music influences ranging from soul legends like Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye to funk and jazz artists like The Meters, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith, Grant Green and many more. Their fresh approach brings a wide array of infectious grooves to their high-energy music.

Big Blu Soul Revue formed in 2012 by Bay Area guitarist and vocalist Jason Movrich (The Mission Players, Jason Movrich & Friends), the band is comprised of a tight group of top notch musicians including Bay Area bassist John Bartlett, Italian-born keyboardist and vocalist Giuseppe Pinto, southern California native Blake Ritterman on drums, along with multi-saxophonists Brian Lassiter and Hermann Lara, and featuring soulful vocalist Lydia Walker.

The band’s music is strongly influenced by the classic sounds of Motown, Stax, Daptones and Blue Note Records but with a fresh and original spin. “Our ultimate goal is to connect with our audience, get you to feel the groove that makes you want to dance,” says Movrich.
