ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Westwood Horns are a legendary horn section from the heyday of the Minneapolis sound. Returning from a 35 plus year hiatus, they’ve got new music and it’s as funky as anything ever produced from there. Bill Gaskill (saxophone, songwriter, producer) wanted this first track to say something about that legacy steeped in that scene.

The Westwood’s are Bill Gaskill (tenor, c melody and alto saxophones) , Terry Halvorson and Gary McKeen (trumpet), and Bruce Palaggi (baritone and soprano saxophones).

With a mix of old and new helpers, local and national, Mustard Greens is the summer song of the year. Featuring Michael (Kidd Funkadelic). Hampton and Cory Wong (Vulfpeck) on guitar, Rick Rock (Mint Condition) on bass, and Craig D (Kool Skool) on vocals, the flavors and influences match the Westwood’s own aesthetic.
