Your Heart Knows

by Bill Mann

Bill Mann writes songs in an eclectic blend of country styles that remind us who we are, why we’re here and where we are going. Sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric, occasionally philosophical, never depressing, always heart-opening.

Album Notes
About “Your Heart Knows”

Bill Mann’s CD, “Your Heart Knows”, features 10 thoughtful, well-crafted songs written by a journeyman singer-songwriter with a passion for songwriting. From the lively country rocker, “Give A Little Love” to the hauntingly beautiful “To All The Broken Shells”, Bill takes the listener on a true journey of the heart, traveling on the rhythms of country, light rock, contemporary folk, reggae and light jazz.

Briefly Biographical

Bill draws on a wide variety of musical influences to express what is important to him: love, spiritual growth, relationships, hope, friendship and laughter, among others.

He likes to laugh and has a light-hearted approach to life that is reflected on stage. “My songs touch a wide range of emotions, so my audience may laugh in one song and shed a tear in the next. But the negative is not my calling. There’s enough anger and fear in the world without me stirring things up. I’d rather sing a song that opens the heart.

Bill has performed in clubs, colleges, festivals, private concerts and seminars for several decades. Along the way, he has entertained audiences across the 48 states and Canada, as well as in Alaska, Europe, Australia and even Africa, and has opened for John Sebastian, Robert Cray, Nick Lowe and Delbert McClinton, among others. He has appeared at Nashville’s Bluebird Café, Amsterdam’s Paradiso Night Club and Seattle’s Northwest Folklife Festival, as well as performed live on radio stations from Kodiak, Alaska to Tampa, Florida.

He is currently working on a double CD, “Heart and Soul”, to be released later this year.

Kind Words from Listeners

"Bill Mann's CD, YOUR HEART KNOWS, is beautiful, moving, and inspiring, and will leave a lasting impression on your heart."

“I love Bill Mann's new CD, ‘Your Heart Knows.’ It will take you on a musical journey from rollicking good times and thoughtful messages to the poignant moments that remind us of our connection to all life. Listen up, Music Industry. People are getting tired of the same old formats. The real creativity is starting to surface and this groundswell is growing daily. Put this CD on, sit back and remember when music was real.

Mike Hutchens, Nashville TN, Songwriter and Recording Artist

“Bill Mann's new album is fantastic. I'm a video producer with GE Capital Assurance and very familiar with music, art, etc. His album breaks new ground with not only creativity, but also fun and upliftment. This is the one CD I reach for when I want to listen to music while doing intense 3d animation work.”

Christopher Greimes, Seattle WA, Video Producer, GE Capital Assurance

“Bill, a great, great job! The production is excellent, the sound crisp and clear, and the arrangements are first rate and very tight and tasty. Nothing is wasted, and it leaves the listener wanting more. This new, present Bill Mann is confident, very professional, concise, and also has written some great new tunes. I was impressed with your vocals throughout the album. Your singing is very expressive and warm. A note about ‘To All the Broken Shells’ – This song touches me square in the heart. It’s as delicate as a feather, yet as stirring as a symphony. You couldn’t have chosen a better ending for your album.”

John Villemonte, Chanhassen MN, Web Site Designer for Microsoft

“This is music for the whole family to listen to. ‘Your Heart Knows’ explores the many facets of love and yet is not sappy. Learn these songs and teach them to your kids.”

Spook Handy, New Brunswick NJ, Songwriter, Performer and Recording Artist

“You have connected with the inner feelings of my heart on so many special chords. Words fail, but then that's why we have beautiful music like your new CD. Thanks for the love that you poured into this work. I can't wait to share these songs with the special people in my life and in my heart.”

Bill Mann's music opens my heart to all the beauty that's waiting out there for me to photograph. And when I'm working on a new pastel painting, Give a Little Love inspires me to put more love into my work. My heart apparently knows what Bill is singing about.

Your Heart Knows
The whole album is great, but my personal favorite track is the last: For All the Broken Shells. It is a kind of uplifting blues. It takes those blues we all experience at times, and masterfully pays tribute to the growth they produce as we move through pain to expansive healing. It is ethereal, moving and positive.

I highly recommend the whole album. Other favorite tracks (should I just list them all?) include Give a Little Love, Looking for a Miracle, Helping Hand, and the fun-time classic: Can't Live With'em.

Way to go, Bill!

Best work of art in music I've seen in a long time...
Bill Mann undoubtedly is the song-writer's writer. As one listens to his CD, Your Heart Knows, one is suddenly whisked away to places before unknown. The layout of the album is nicely arranged to give the listener a feeling of euphoria. Every song has a positive message which uplifts one spiritually.
