Album Notes
I have worked for the last 40 years as professional photo-journalist, covering stories all over Australia for newspapers and magazines. During my time as a photographer I expressed myself musically by writing songs about the people I was meeting on the road. When I retired from photography I went back to school and studied drug and alcohol counselling. For the past few years I have been working as a drug and alcohol counsellor in a 28 day rehabilitation hospital and using my song ideas coupled with my photography to try to inspire my clients to make the changes they needed to make for a better life. Consequently a few songs on my album are 'Recovery Songs' and designed to bring hope to recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. Another subject that has captured my imagination as a songwriter is the futility of war and I hope my song "Not Only Soldiers' resonates with my listening audience. Other themes I have explored in my songs are lost love, regret, recovery and redemption.
