THE LIGHT OF HER LOVE

And the rain falls down and the years go round

The boy with the ball and the kite
He Jumps in her arms holding tight
Bearing dreams and a smile so bright and we all fall down

Oh precious child of the gathering storm were you lost were you torn
Oh precious child of her anguish and shame she dried your tears with the light of her love

He craves and he bleeds
As he falls to his knees
At the feet of his chosen disease and the years go round

Oh precious child she ransomed her soul but your dreams still run cold
Oh precious child she must let you go she turns away with the light of her love

He shakes and cries alone
In a world that he cannot disown
With a heart that will not lead him home and the rain falls down

But who will be there to dry his tears
Who will be there to hold him near
When will the morning light appear
When will her fear end
When can she dream

Oh precious child she pleads as she prays though he can’t find his way
But her precious child in the wandering night sees a still small light the light of her love

The agony of mothers
Addiction is more than illegal drugs, and includes alcohol and many other substances and actions that seem to meet an internal need. My grandmother watched her son and his wife enter a labour of love with alcohol. My parents epitomized the movie The Day of Wine and Roses, and I played the role of the audience. My grandmother lost her soul in the quest to save her son's life - to no avail. It was an interesting life of love, alcohol and tears.

Truly touched my heart
Bill Mott found the heart to completely capture the love of a mother and the incredible struggles with the disease of addiction of her truly loved drug addicted son. I wept as I listened to your words. You truly got into the heart of a mother. I am overwhelmed and honoured to have had you share your song with me. Truly humbled.
Very sincerely, June Ariano-Jakes - www.AddictionAMotherStory.com
