ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Camel City Collective has no firm definition or solid identity. Bill Stevens writes in a plethora of styles and with a myriad of amazing musicians. This particular record features compositions inspired by the big band giants (like Duke, Quincy, and Thad), but from a fresh contemporary perspective. The record features some of the finest musicians on the planet including John Ellis, Becca Stevens, Kofi Burbridge, Calvin Napper, and Scott Sawyer (to name a few). In addition to original compositions by Bill Stevens, the record is decorated with arrangements of tunes by John Coltrane, Jaco Pastorius, Aaron Copland, and even a tune that was made famous by Michael Jackson. The people who have listened to La La Landing really like it.
