Get It Going

by Billy Brandt

Billy Brandt w/ the Thing & the Stuff Band's music has working class appeal that radiates masculine charm and chutzpah. A voice like dark roasted coffee with a hint of cream and a band as sweet as the cube of sugar.

Album Notes
“The self-released Get It Going is Billy Brandt’s second album (following his 2012 debut The Ballad of Larry’s Neighbor), and the deep-voiced singer/songwriter covers a lot of territory on this offering, from lightly swinging jazzy pop to soulful rock flavors….there is an undeniable power and attitude in his vocal approach”

“Brandt spins the slightly mysterious and odd narrative with the inflection and delivery of a born storyteller.” Andrew Luthringer Earshot Jazz magazine

Intoxicating Appeal
Billy Brandt's live shows in Seattle are...epic. He surrounds himself with stellar players --and is a consummate singer/instrumentalist himself! His voice records beautifully --and his easy charm is most evident throughout. Hats off, for a ballsy cover of the Stones' "Jumpin Jack Flash" but my fave is (hands down) "Ode to Billie Joe". This disc has enjoyed many, many spins! Highly recommended
