Album Notes
Bionik Brown is the ultimate DIY artist. Not many others have been able to tour nationally and internationally and move thousands of albums without major label push. He's the artist, the CEO and the street team (all in one incredibly handsome, talented...and humble package). Critically lauded for his ghostwriting efforts on a number of top selling recordings in recent years, and for several songs licensed to television and film, the future looks bright for the proud Uptown New Orleans product.

Temporarily residing in Denver, Colorado (as a result of Hurricane Katrina), he is keeping the spirit of his City’s music alive and well. In 2007, he toured parts of Asia, the Caribbean and the States spreading his love for the City and the musical culture that birthed him. Bionik also played several European Festivals opening for legendary rap group, The Beastie Boys.

2008 promises to continue the trend of stellar productivity for the kid. The highlight will be his triumphant homecoming performance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in May. The road warrior will also continue to tour in support of his new critically lauded album Platinum Thoughts, Aluminum Budget.

Bionik's show is often compared to an amalgam of a hip hop concert, improvisational freestyle showcase and standup comedy routine. His music's refreshingly devoid of the typical ignorant rap themes but the positive vibe is in no way a gimmick. Listeners quickly learn that the good vibes dramatically enhance the impact of the music. The former English major knows words and wields them well.

His sound's been compared to many musical greats including Common, Devin the Dude, Big L and A Tribe Called Quest just to name a few. He's also had the opportunity to play shows with many of his influences including Talib Kweli, The Clipse, SOULIVE and The Roots.

About his influences Brown says, I am influenced by God, life and good musicians regardless of genre. This is clear with one glance at his iPod which will reveal music from artists as diverse as Marvin Gaye, Salif Keita, The Meters, Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong and James Taylor.

If you are ready to experience real, honest music free of useless filler...look no further than the People's favorite underground Champion, BIONIK BROWN. Watch out, World, Hip Hop means something again!

Yall Don't Understand
This man has been putting things down since I first met him with Mental Metropolis in 1999! And this album is another example of what the average person has been missing out from New Orleans and Louisiana Hip-Hop in general! Trust me, this is one that should be in your collection YESTERDAY!
