ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bitter Nasty is an American alternative rock band formed in 2016 by South Florida native, Girls Rock! camper alum and Girls Rock! Phoenix Board Member Samantha Bellach + Southern California raised artist, director and actor Nathaniel J. Burns.

The group is best known for their no-nonsense delivery of ear-wormy vocals, grungy bluesy guitar hooks, and a 90's alternative ethos with 70's-era heavy-stomping, impressionistic rock beats.

Bellach and Burns met at Urban Beans, a 24 hour Café in Phoenix, Arizona where Burns hosted the event “Peanut Butter and Jam," a then monthly art, music, and noise session open to anyone willing to pick up a paintbrush, some drum sticks or freestyle something off the top of their head in public.

Bellach's acoustic, singer-songwriter set landed her a New Year’s Eve-Eve show at the popular Phoenix venue, “The Trunk Space." Bellach wanted to ring in the new year in a thunderous way, so recruited her new friend Burns to play drums for her show.

In a few short weeks, the two arranged the songs, whose roots were heavy in Bellach's youth playing coffee shops back East, in her hometown of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Dialing in their "Two of Rock" sound they created a high energy and moving experience to close out 2016. The closure of 2017 saw the creation of recorded versions of these songs, some of which are included on this debut EP to preview their upcoming album.
