ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Also known as the Skillman family, Blackberry Blossom Farm is a family band which sings gospel, hymns and bluegrass from Cottonwood, California. The three sisters have developed a tight sibling harmony and have a very special sound from singing together over the years. They play fiddle, guitar, mandolin and Dad joins in on the bass.

The songs on this album are a collaboration of mother and daughters with three songs tugging heart strings. "Mama's Apron Strings" written by Don Skowronski is a song the Skillman girls have sung over the years and entitles the CD. "The Hand Song" written by Sean C. Watkins and David Puckett is about a little boy and his mother who realize the story of Jesus' love sung by 13 year old Macy Jae. "Storm's Lullaby" is an original written by 20 year old daughter Madison and her mother about a lullaby that a mother sings to her daughter to calm her through the storm's of life.

This CD is a compilation of traditional bluegrass songs and hymns. 18 year old Mariah's voice is rich on "O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus" and little brother, 8-year-old Nathan recites a Bible verse or two. This CD would make a wonderful gift for the "mom" in your life.
