ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Black Swan Green was formed in Brooklyn, New York in January 2008. The band spent six months writing and recording their first full-length record ,"the ruin gaze...", with the help of saintly friends and borrowed money. BSG do not wear their influences on their sleeves nor do they hide them. Multiple layers of guitars and reverb laden vocals owe a debt to shoe gaze while still maintaining an epic quality similar to Guided by Voices and the Afghan Whigs. Practicing in a secluded and very abandoned rifle range, Black Swan Green hone both their live skills and shots. They are now a seminal part of a growing underground "noise gaze" movement in the outer borough scene. It has been rumored that William Burroughs had once slept in the old rifle range and his spirit is still felt. Black Swan Green strive for a cathartic type of sound and live experience with each performance hoping to touch on some lost memory.
