ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Blake Ian is a New York singer/songwriter who currently has 3 albums available. He has toured and opened for Donovan, Duncan Sheik, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Leon Russell, Jeffrey Gaines and Christopher Cross. His songs have been in feature films and he performs in the most well known clubs in Manhattan (The Bitter End, Sin-e, Pianos, Rockwood Music Hall) as well as throughout the country (Eddie's Attic GA, The Stage on Broadway Nashville, Blind Melon San Diego.. and others)
Starting out as a most young teens in the early 90's Blake was inspired and directed into music by Seattle's swarm of super successes like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. However his true passion for songwriting and lyrical content came into full bloom when he discovered the legends who became his teachers and influences. At the top of this list of great mentors is the 60's songwriting icon Bob Dylan. Followed by artists such as Neil Young, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Tom Petty and more recent successes REM, Elliott Smith, Lou Barlow and Beck.
Blake Ian has recieved acclaim for his latest album Alchemist which is now available at major online retailers and is currently becoming available at all digital download stores.. The Album is an homage to what Blake described in an interview as "A book that saved my life".. .
He has been written about by music magazines all over the counrty ... He was featured in an article titled The Reemergance of the New York Singer/Songwirter where he was described as "... one of New York's best kept secrets.." Hopefully not for too much longer!

In the Style of Eliot Smith & James Blunt
In the Style of Eliot Smith & James Blunt Blake Ian has a a way of putting you in a mood. I met Blake at a local club trying out a new song. I was supprised and that dosent often happen.
I was handed a copy of his CD I have been listening to it for days, it's Original and intresting, In My 1600 Cd Collection,
There is a handfull I would Take On a road trip or throw on when my family is over, this is one of them. He is a very unassuming and humble person. Sorry we didn't get to talk more, You Moved Me , Thank You!

This album is fantastic
I'm from northern ireland, had to get this cd shipped in from the US, cost me $20... But it was well worth it! I love every track. It burts forth with two great opening tracks in the fire and a little more and calms it down with road of diamonds and fade (sounds very like an irish band, the frames, if you've heard them). Poison is a classic and I could listen to tell me when all day. Hope you break the UK soon!

Oh How Beautiful! Each song was better the the one before!
The song tracks were put into pleasent listening order. Each one leads to the next with ease to the ear. My family enjoys when I put the c/d in and we listen to it while we prepare and eat dinner together. Looking forward to seeing Blake Ian in the south Florida area someday!

This is passion!
This is passionate and sincere songwriting. Blake has a unique way of fitting the "bar stool philosopher's" lyrics over repititious chord progressions that should get boring, but don't. It's an aquired talent that very few people (Neil Young, Bob Dylan) have instilled. My favorite trax are- In the fires, Poison, and Car Radio. Those are the feel good songs... the others have a haunting slowness, a crisp beauty that remind you of snowy nights when the hard and fast days of summer are all but forgotten. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who lives by the poem, but loves to rock!

I like his style, and the way each song has a life of it's own.
I was introduced to Blake Ian when invited to become one of his friends on myspace.com, and was amazed when I listened to his music. I HAD to add this cd to my collection; was pleased with what I heard!

I really love this music!! It's like nothing I have heard before!! My favorite
This CD is truly like nothing I have ever heard before!! I really enjoy it! I have been listening to it over and over since I got it in the mail!! I can't really describe it in words, but when I put it in my car stereo with my bass boom system and turn the volume up...I feel awesome! And I get goosebumbs whenever song #5 comes on, because it just sounds sooo cool!! I would have to say my favorite songs are: #2, #3, #4, #5, and #6!! I can't wait to hear more from this artist!!
