ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Chris Blizzard burst onto the music scene in 1998, when a friend entered him in the "BET International Jazz Discovery Contest" via a video taped performance. Chris won the contest and was featured in a solo concert performance on BET's Jazz Central.

As BET's international audience soon learned Chris has the ability to subtly yet with great emotion, deliver the message of a song. His range is rare . . . rising and lowering octave after octave effortlessly, with a power matched only by the passion of his heart.

He's been compared to Luther Vandross, Donnie Hathaway, and James Ingram. If you asked Chris he would describe himself as a hybrid, influenced by the Jazzy Pop sounds of Earth Wind & Fire, the Soulful R&B of the Commodores, and the vocal jazz styling of George Benson, balanced with a healthy dose of Rogers and Hammerstein, and The Wonderful World of Disney. A music writer for Nashville's Tennessean newspaper described Chris' style as "lovey dovey, pop soul."

Chris' musical roots were nurtured in the church where he started singing at the age of four in the "Angel Choir." "There is no doubt where I got the gift of music," Chris says. "And it was easy to spot me in the group . . . I was the Angel with the slightly tarnished wings."

In High School, his interests expanded into musical theatre and Drama, with roles as "Schroeder in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown," and The Stage Manager in Thornton Wilder's "Our Town." In College he continued by playing leading roles; "The Wiz," and the Leading Player in "Pippin." He was also a featured soloist with both the "Hampton Singers" and the World renowned "Fisk Jubilee Singers."

Chris pursued a career in Radio immediately after college and became one of Nashville's most respected syndicated radio producers. Along the way he hosted and produced nationally syndicated, music-intensive, radio programs for CBN Radio Network and CCM Magazine. These shows had a distinctly "Positive" message.

In 1993, Chris helped develop and produce "Simple Life with Ricky Skaggs," a one-hour, positive message, music program for Country Radio. Within a year, Simple Life was heard on over 350 stations in America, making it the nation's second largest syndicated radio show at the time. Yet with all of his success in broadcasting, the dream of a career in music was always present.

After an auto accident in 1997 involving a head-on collision with an eighteen-wheeler, Chris decided to pursue a career focusing on his heart's desire . . . Music. "I believe in the power of music," he says with quiet certainty. "Whether it makes us think about the world around us, the person next to us or the spirit inside us, Music's magic touches us all."

Chris' first solo release, "Moonlight & Roses," which he also produced will be available in January 2001. "This project is about all those "essential" things we push into the background. It's about Friendship, Commitment, and Love."

Chris explains. "I'm an eternal optimist and a "hopeful" romantic. These songs were inspired by my past and current relationships on every level. I only hope there are a few more people out there that miss romance like I do."

Chris has been featured on BET and has performed nationwide. His Charm is obvious. His Talent is undeniable. Chris Blizzard is a musician, songwriter, producer, interviewer, and respected radio personality who until now has been working in the wings. Now it's time for him to take his place on stage, as a performer; where he truly belongs.

Fantastic voice, music and lyrics!
I loved this whole CD (except for one song) the first time I listened to it. I am very impressed with Chris' voice, his range, the music and the wonderful lyrics. He reminds me a lot of James Ingram.
