Album Notes
Bonnie Lee Panda has the voice of an angel heard through songs that soar with spirit. A 25-year old Cheshire, CT native, Bonnie Lee considers her music to be a twist of country, blues and pop, with a touch of classical style. When she begins to sing and play her acoustic guitar, "her voice resonates throughout the room until everything else just fades away (Shannon Becker, Cheshire Herald). In 2004, Bonnie Lee advanced into the regional finals in the Nashville Star Competition, after winning the local finals. She performed live on WWYZ Country 92.5's Christmas show broadcasted from the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Bonnie Lee recently completed her debut CD, "Within," which will be available for purchase in December 2004. "Within" is comprised of seven of her original tunes and the number one country hit "I Hope You Dance" (LeAnn Wolmack.) Recorded at Signature Sounds Studio, her recording is lightly produced, consisting of her acoustic guitar and vocals. Duke Levine, who toured with Mary Chapin Carpenter's band for five years, accompanied Bonnie on guitar.

Bonnie Lee actively performs locally making regular appearances at weekly open mics at the Pine Loft Café (Berlin, CT) and The Space (Hamden, CT). After seeing Bonnie Lee perform, Ralph Hohman from the Record Journal stated that "her presentation was relaxed and confident, her voice commanding and expressive." Bonnie has donated her time and talents in performances at assisted living and nursing homes, shelters, benefits for recovery centers, for hunger and homelessness awareness, and other events for worthy causes. Bonnie says about her passion for singing and her love of songs:

"I love to perform and share my music with others. From the time I was eight I knew my passion was singing. I would spend hours in my bedroom, singing along with the radio with a hairbrush as my microphone. I was shy at first, but my passion helped me overcome that. This is what I'm meant to do!"

Bonnie graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut in 2001 with a BA in Psychology. While at UConn, Panda co-founded the first thriving a cappella group on campus, named the Chordials. Also among Panda's musical experiences are ten years of private classical vocal training; lead singer in a jazz band; rhythm guitarist and vocalist in a country band; and National Anthem performer (2004 CT Special Olympics; New Britain Rock Cats baseball and UConn men's basketball games).

Erik Balkey

A stunning voice, alternating powerful and delicate delivery of songs from the playful to the contemplative. Well-crafted songs, fantastic melodies, and fine spare production with nothing but the tasteful additions from Duke Levine. Wow! And, this is just the beginning. Yes, you could say I'm bragging... I'm so proud of my talented peer and good friend. Bonnie put together a wonderful variety of songs in what will prove to be the first of a collection of great recordings. Remember this name!

Susanna Lee
