Album Notes
Songwriters John Gibson Miller, Ann Moore Miller, Mary Moore Garrison and Lisa Bloom Cohen deliver extremely imaginative, funky fish songs that will delight the hearer whether young or old! The whole family will enjoy singing these blues-inspired tunes with humorous and clever lyrics that also manage to slip in a multitude of interesting fish facts. In the vein of the classic album "Schoolhouse Rock", this songwriting team sought to create fun, intelligent songs that will teach about fish utilizing the rich language of blues as its inspiration. Recorded at the legendary Church Studio of Tulsa, Oklahoma, this aquatic collection features the incredibly gifted blues/ jazz pianist Scott McQuade, Matt Hayes on some delicious acoustic and electric bass, Sean Al-Jibouri, Frank Brown and Travis Fite move us with their stellar guitar playing, Demetrius Williams and Arthur Thompson dazzle with drums and percussion while Kathy Rad Rocks us with her cello. In addition, you will hear the electrifying brass riffs played by Mike Tedder on saxophone, Steve Ham on trombone and Mike Bennett on trumpet. Lead vocalists for the album are Anthony Mason, Ann Moore Miller, Phil Armstrong and John Gibson Miller. Keren Heath and Liz Barsoum contributed their tasty background vocals to the project. Lauren Plaskonos contributed the beautiful "Bluefish" art. Whether you are a teacher looking for a fresh, creative opportunity to impart fish facts to your students, a parent wanting to capture your child's imagination with the splendor and beauty of aquatic life as you visit a local aquarium or a blues and jazz enthusiast, this album is for you!
