ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bluesteele is drummer Joe Maloney, keyboardist Liam Maloney, guitarist Keith Purdy, and bassist Bryan Stephenson. We've been playing together for years mainly for the pure enjoyment of it. Over the years we've dabbled at recording some of our original songs, but until now we've never been satisfied with the results. We hope that you will enjoy listening to our music as much as we enjoy playing it.

Many of these songs were written in the 1980's by the songwriting team of Liam Maloney and Frank Maro. Track 3, Birkenshaw Place, was written by Liam and Frank one night in 1986 after breaking into the studio through the bathroom window. This was necessary because Joe was camping out of town with the keys.

During the 80's, 90's, and 00's, Bluesteele has had a number of different guitar players, including Frank Maro, Chengwen Chen, Rob Gall, Scot Stephenson, Joe Munoz, and Alan Lash. They each have influenced the sound of our music on this CD because each of the songs has evolved while we've been playing it with them.

Many thanks to our friend, producer, recording engineer, and guitarist Keith Purdy. All recording and production was done at Keith's Abstract Motion Studios in San Jose, California.
