ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
For the past several years Carswell and I have had a standing gig for a December cookie party in Snohomish Washington, replete with a Steinway grand piano and a breathtaking view. Our host, clad in elf’s clothing, and rolling rum balls for her elfing adventures in December queried: “Wouldn’t it be cool to just record this party with John singing and playing my childhood Steinway?” I responded that I had one final recording project planned for Carswell and was considering it for one of two record label projects in 2014. Three months later, and I receive a call from our executive elf, turned record producer who says: “I want to finance the project.” The result before you is one five hour session of playing live in the studio. No overdubs, only a couple of retakes, but certainly an authentic look at a 16 year career of playing together and a lifelong look at Carswell’s career. Thanks to all who contributed to this project and made it all happen. You know who you are.

Special thanks to Jill Rosethal for supporting the band and underwriting this project. Also, thank you Joseph Garcia for the use of your mighty Hammond B3 organ and your assistance on this session.
