About the album:
The album was recorded from December 2002 - August 2003 in my recording engineer's apartment in Somerville, MA. The bulk of the recording was done from January - April before I moved to San Francisco, CA to work for Macromedia. There were some additional overdubs done in June and then I came back to Boston in August to do the final overdubs. We mixed the record in September and returned to the studio in October to re-mix a few of the tracks. It was mastered over two days in mid-December with a final master/edit completed in January 2004.

This project actually began for me in August 2002. I had just finished the first record with the band 'Reflections' (2002) and it had been a year since my father's death. I felt a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders that summer. That's when I met the person who would be the catalyst for many of the songs on this record. Our romance lasted only a month before she moved out west.

She was a beautiful shadow that passed through my life. A chance meeting that changed my life and my music. Life is a series of moments and often we can miss them if we aren't paying attention.

great
I don't have this CD and cannot review it as a whole.
However, I did hear "Palo Alto" on the radio and can tell you that it is an excellent song, sung soulfully and beautifully. Its meaningful lyrics, though they say nothing of this band's talent, are not at the forefront--the guitar part is complex and compelling.
THis may be one of the best Radiohead covers I've ever heard for three reasons: they were not trying to copy their sound, this is not one of RH's better known songs, and the band has ACTUAL TALENT (unlike others that cover RH, like 311).

Atmospheric waves crash into looping, multi-tiered harmonies, bursts of guitar and vocals that crest and fall with the taffy-like layers, stretching and rebounding, expanding and recoiling. If this album were a painting, it would be done with brilliant color, with the bare hands, taking handfulls of gooey wet paint and smearing it across a 360 degree canvas; add to that sharp, distinct, three-dimensional texturing and you're getting there. It's the kind of album that leads you to imagine a life without gravity, a limitless existence where a thought is all you need to manifest your desire. This is oceanic pop, turbulent but steady, which fills the mind with iridescent blues and greens.
