Bob Barlow is an award-winning singer/songwriter whose unique fusion of folk, pop and edgy optimism creates a truly memorable musical experience. Whether he's singing about love, loss or orthodontia, listeners invariably end up smiling, tapping their toes and feeling somewhat better about things in general.

Bob's debut EP, Woodstock Six, consists of a half-dozen little masterpieces, handcrafted in Upstate New York with backing from bassist Mark Dann (Dar Williams, Richard Shindell) and drummer Steve Holley (Wings -- yes, that Wings).

Like finding an undiscovered vein of gold
Listening to Woodstock Six is like finding an undiscovered vein of gold in some abandoned California mine. Bob's music doesn't channel the 1960s -- it proves instead that the 1960s are alive and well, kicking and screaming, in a small room across the hall. The door's unlocked. Time traveling and astral projection, without the heavy machinery or hallucinations. That doesn't mean you won't have a mild hangover. Bob's music will keep playing in your head long after you hear it. Throw the switch, take a deep breath, dive in, swim to the bottom. You'll be amazed.

keep being creative. You bring a good spirit to music.

The star rating here is limited, I liken Bob's music to a constellation... 5 of
I'm a gianormous fan, I know Bob's music well. I have heard him play in open mics, cafeterias, classrooms, living rooms, libraries, conference rooms and spaceships (just kidding). It has dawned on me that this particular cd takes you on a sort of autobiographical journey, whether truth or fantasy, you feel like celebrating life's little wonders via Bob Barlow.

Clever lyrics and catchy melodies
OK, it's really hard to write a funny song. A truly funny song has to have some depth and poignancy to it. Many songwriters struggle with this and can never seem to achieve the right balance. Bob, however, knows how to include just the right amount of humor and sensitivity with an eye for detail. Not that all of his songs are humorous - he covers a broad range of subjects and emotions. His melodies are instantly catchy and upbeat. He turns into an bad-a#@ alt-rocker on "Without Even Asking." Overall a fantastic CD!!

Absolutely Awsome! Loved the lyrics.
I love the music. This CD is a lot of fun to listen to, and sing along with when no one else is around:)

Funny, smart, and it rocks!
This is a fantastic CD, and the more I hear it the more I like it! At first listen it's very funny and clever. Play it a few times and you begin to notice the warmth, the heart, and all the spot-on details. Great arrangements and tight band too!
