ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
You know I’ve played these songs all over the place. I have played these songs between bands at
Madame Wong’s and Hong Kong Cafe. Al’s Bar and underground clubs. I swear to God I played
these songs at CBGB on the rainiest night on the Bowery. Coffee Houses and record stores.
Rock clubs, concert venues, house concerts and house parties. I played these songs at
the intersection of Spoken Word and live bands playing behind strippers. Played these songs
on some pretty good bills and on some that were pretty bad.
I took a bass playing vacation. Played bass all over the place. Played in that place over there
when it had a bluegrass night, or a folk night or a twenties jazz night. Played in hidden listening
rooms, libraries, city concerts, festivals. When my bass playing vacation journey brought me home again
I wanted to play these songs again.
I played them on this recording in the Foothills of Los Angeles. My friend Mike Stromberg
backs me up on several instruments: Dobro, Tricone guitar, acoustic guitar. Mike is a gentleman
and an intellectual.
