Album Notes
Bob James, began his career as a singer / songwriter in London England, in 1990. He started by playing in Pubs and Clubs, in the UK and Europe, he then released his first album, "In The Words Of A Song", in 1994.
He was approached in 1995 by Sky Television to represent CMT Europe, which he did, and his career took off, touring, UK Europe and eventually the southern States of America. After the passing of his mother in 1997, he moved to Nashville TN, early 1998. He then Affiliated his publishing company, Archie-Rose Publishing, with ASCAP Nashville, and became involved with "Don't Let The Home Farm Die", A brilliant video was shot by his ex-producer, Bradley Verecha, which was used on the US Farm Report.
In 1999, with the country music industry in turmoil, he decided to take some time and write, ten years later, he has recorded this album, which he has dedicated to his wife, who he was married to for eleven years, James said, "if it were not for my wife, and the good and bad times we endured together, I may have never written these songs, I will always love her".
Bob James formed his publishing company in London, England, but said, I have had to form Archie-Rose Music which is also an independent record label too. James said "I had to form my own label, most the majors, want the new, young good looking artists today, they don't want to take any chances with guys my age anymore. Nowadays, you may as well release it yourself".
Bob moved to Fort Wayne Indiana in 2003, and in 2009, began recording "When The Darkness Calls", He has always had a passion for music, and said "people need songs they can relate too, especially in these troublesome times, we need a release, I am just the same as everyone else I hurt, I cry, I laugh and love, I am just blessed that I have the ability to put my feelings on paper and into music, I pray that it helps someone through some emotional times, it has me".
Bob has been invited to represent, Justice for Licensees in England, which is fighting to bring to peoples attention around the world, the plight of the great British Pub, which are closing at an alarming rate, he is writing and releasing a song and video.
Unlike some artists, Bob has and keeps a very close connection with his fans, "They are an essential part of my life, as I hope I am in theirs".
This album, is really a tribute to Romance, I love the idea of True Love, to have that kind of relationship where you both adore each other, is an absolute dream, it is just wonderful to think that two people could idolise each other for ever, wow.
"Every song , I wrote, on this album, tells a personal story, and each song moves into the next. From separating, to exchanging vows again.
If you listen to the words and feel the music, you will know how I felt".
The album is put together carefully, it is sung with a lot of emotion, which evokes memories of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Marty Robbins, Dwight Yoakam, it captures the essence of the pain and the love in every relationship scenario, if you have feelings that tug at your heart, you will love the album, lets mend our hearts together.
Bob Formed, Archie-Rose Music, originally as a tribute to his Grandfather, who was a friend of the Great, Fred Rose, who along with Roy Acuff, formed Acuff-Rose Publishing, where Hank Williams and the like got their start.
'I want to reflect everything that is good within the music business, such as trust, honesty, giving people value for money, treating the fans as well as the artists with the respect they deserve. I want Archie-Rose to become one of the most respected companies, in the entertainment business".
