ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE BONEDADDYS are a diverse group of Los Angeles-based working musicians who come together from time to time under the direction of percussionist MICHAEL TEMPO in order to make party music for party people. THE BONEDADDYS were one of the very first American "worldbeat" bands; established in about 1984 (I'm a little vague on that one!) and dedicated to the proposition to GROOVE and MOVE people thru a gumbo consisting of Rock, Funk, African, R&B,Soul, Soca, Reggae Rock Steady, Roots, Jazz,Blues, Highlife, New Orleans Second-Line, Gospel, Hillbilly and Zydeco. They have toured clubs and halls colleges and parks in the U.S. and Canada, made T.V. and radio appearances, and have had a performance catalouged in the Library of Congress. THE BONEDADDYS have recorded 4 previous albums (A-KOO-DEE-A, WORLDBEATNIKS, TO JAM IS HUMAN, TO GIG DIVINE and JUNGLE/JUNGLE...all of which are either out of print and/or are extremely hard to get. GARAGE SALE, the new album continues the BONEDADDY tradition of mixing genres- with the common denominator being a soulful and fun as well as dancable ambiance.GARAGE SALE is Produced by bandmembers PHIL GOUGH and MICHAEL TEMPLE and features stalwart lead singer KASPAR ABBO as well as original Bonedaddy frontman KING COTTON vocalizing over the twin-guitar attack of PHIL GOUGH and MARCUS WATKINS with JAY WORK on saxophones and RICK MOORS, CASEY JONES, and MIKE TEMPO on Bass, Drums and Percussion. It also features a rare and previously un-released collaboration with American icon BO DIDDLEY. "Say Bo ( Where'd you get that Kpolongo)" chronicles Bo's reaction upon being informed that the "BO DIDDLEY BEAT" has African roots. ANSWER: "The Church gave it to me!" Genius. THE BONEDADDYS make carefully hand-crafted hot and sweet sweat-inducing music aimed at the lower chakaras and suitable for all of your party needs. Dig it.

I became a Bonedaddy's fan back in the late 80's. They are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. Non-stop dancing. I hope they will continue to put music out and would jump at the opportunity to see them live again. Garage Sale is an awesome CD. Casey Jones, the drummer, use to play with one of my favorite blues guitarist, Albert Collins who past away a few years back. Please tour again.

Don't forget the Bonedaddys roots!
The band that was one of the first " World Music " bands was BURNING SENSATIONS! Remember the hit song, " BELLY OF THE WHALE " ? Another great song off the bands one album was " AFROBILLY ". They did a song, " PABLO PICASSO", for the movie REPO MAN. The band then disbanded for personal reasons and several of them went on to form Bonedaddys.

Still cookin' after all these years!
This CD carries on the great Bonedaddys "tradition" of making some of the most enjoyable, FUN music I have ever heard. I have played this CD about 20 times since receiving it in the mail 2 days ago. I listen to it at home and then take it with me to listen to while I drive.

Buy this CD (and any other Bonedaddys CD's you can find)!!!

Another Masterpiece!
The Bonedaddys have been doing it masterfully for a long time. And they do it again on this new CD. I saw them in concert awhile ago in Dana Point, CA and the band was nice enough to hang out with their fans after the show and have a couple of beers. I can't tell you what genre this music is. Let's say World Music. Hey, if you love to feel good, get this CD. If you love to have fun, get this CD. If you love to party, get this CD. Heck get them all! I love this band and I love this CD!!!

Tight ecclectic, and challenging sound.
A satisfying mix of genres. Inventive arrangements that're easy to listen to. Big fan of Mike "Tempo's"!

The Daddy's are BACK!
I got turned on to the Bonedaddy's in the early 90's when, I would say, they were in their prime. It was right after their first two albums. Kevin Williams was singing lead, and Marcus and Kaspar were on guitars. They had this hard-hitting "roots" sound which, much to my dismay, seemed to get buried under layers of electronic garb on the albums that followed. Then the Daddy's fizzled out, I guess. Well, I'm glad I ran into this album on the internet, because this is the old Bonedaddy's that I love! Honestly, I thought I would miss Williams' super sweet vocal stylings, but Kaspar seems to really have found his voice in the Bonedaddy's sound...especially on "Dog Bite" where he sounds super-seasoned, gruff, and FUNKY as hell!! And on this new album, the Bonedaddy's have returned to their good habit of dipping into several different genres. I especially like the sweet soukous flavored songs on this album. Great songwriting there and across the board. Good job guys. I pray there is more to come.

These guy are great. I got to help my dad set up sound for them when I was a kid and watch the show. One of my favorite memories. Hey - Kieth I know what you mean they got a little electronic garby sounding on Jungle Jungle but there are some best songs on that album. Whichi-Tai-To - forget about it - the best. So give that one another listen. Jungle is going for about $100 on line - thats alot but it makes for a nice birthday present.
