Mike Botts, legendary member of the soft-rock supergroup Bread ("Make It With You," "Everything I Own," "Baby-I'm-A-Want-You"), has just released his long-awaited debut solo CD, "ADULTS ONLY". This new CD, carefully crafted with the help of such famous musicians as Lee Sklar, Andrew Gold, Bob Glaub and many others, is nothing short of an adult-contemporary tour-de-force.

Long-recognized as a "drummer's drummer," Mike Botts now not only steps forward on this CD with a veritable showcase of wry, poignant songwriting, but also with a voice Linda Ronstadt calls " a real gift." Songs such as "Squeeze," "Avenue 63," "What's That Comin'," and "The Wait" are perfect examples of Mike's unique singer/songwriter approach. "What you hear on this CD is the culmination of my experiences over the last 15 years, from pain to sorrow to joy - with a dose of humor where needed!"

A founding member of Bread and the principal drummer for Dan Fogelberg and Linda Ronstadt (not to mention participating on hundreds of famous sessions), Mike has witnessed singing and songwriting from some of the best in music business history. Now it's Mike's turn to shine, with a sound slightly reminiscent of Sting, Randy Newman and Rod Stewart, but with a voice and truth all his own - a truly gifted and compelling storyteller.

Mike Botts rises above and beyond...
The undeniable virtuosity of Mike Botts' drumming has been no secret to any followers of Bread and the multitude of studio projects which he has contributed to through the years - but who could ever dream that he could shine so brightly as a vocalist, composer, producer and keyboardist as well? Why he was denied a chance to contribute with his multi-faceted gifts in the past is beyond me. This bluesy and gutsy album absolutely pleases from start to finish in every possible aspect. A worthy addition to any music-lover's collection. A-plus all the way! Kudos, Mike!

Wow!! What a Surprise!!
I wasn't surprised that a CD by former Bread drummer Mike Botts would be good. But I WAS surprised at the wide variety of styles incorporated in this CD. Take the voice of Sting, mix in a sprinkling of the dry wit of Randy Newman, and you'll have a pretty good idea of how Botts' voice sounds. It's nothing like David Gates or the (sadly) late James Griffin. Best rocker on this CD,"El Dorato".

Buy it, and crank up the volume!! You won't regret it!!

Botts is bold, bluesy, and brilliant!
Former Bread drummer Mike Botts has released his own CD called Adults Only. Botts wrote all the tunes, does a fantastic job on nearly all of the vocals by himself, and plays all the drums and percussion parts as well as some guitar and horns! This guy is a very versatile musician.

The songs are all about life, and some are done in a bit of a tongue-in-cheek style, while others are very serious.
The Wait, a fabulous essay on lines of all kinds, should be the single if there ever is to be one, but El Dorado could fill that bill, too. Avenue 63 takes a very serious look at poor neighborhoods, while Old Man's Lament and Shame give us a glimpse into Mike Botts' most intimate thoughts and fears.

All told, there is not a single clunker on this CD. It moves along nicely, and one can hardly wait to hear the next track when the previous one ends. Botts has proven to be bold, bluesy, and brilliant with his first ever solo effort.

Mike Botts' solo project takes up themes that will resonate with thoughtful boom
Don’t let the suggestive title fool you--Adults Only, Mike Botts’ solo project, takes up themes that will resonate with thoughtful boomers who came of age listening to Botts and his compadres in BREAD. With help from fellow studio studs like Lee Sklar, Bob Glaub, Andrew Gold and George Clinton, listeners will hear songs about loss of old friends (Shame…an homage to the BREAD days?), inner city strife (Avenue 63), and femmes fatales (Buns of Doom). Folks will be pleasantly surprised by the wide stylistic range of Adults Only--this is not a drum project. Listeners should certainly expect great drumming and percussion, superior production values and tasty work from the other musicians, but who knew this guy could sing? I’ve never seen him with a vocal mike but he really sings quite well. My favorite tracks include Squeeze, El Dorado, and The Wait.
