ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Boys' Entrance began in 1991 after Tim Cain visited his old college friend, Jon Ginoli in San Francisco. Jon played Tim his demos for the first Pansy Division album. The songs were so gay, so bold, so unapologetic that when Cain returned to Chicago he happened to pass an old school house, and carved in stone above the door were the words, "BOYS ENTRANCE". "That sounds like a band I should be in", Cain thought to himself. So he went out and bought a sequencer and began teaching himself to play it. The first album, "Exit Or Entrance" was released on cassette the following year. (It has never been made available on CD or digitally for sale- though Cain is posting tracks on his Reverbnation website, with an eye to a formal 25th Anniversary release.).
Cain formed a band to play out and was joined by Mike Ferro on rhythm guitar, and Cie Fletcher on Lead Guitar.

Two EPs followed, then in 1995, Cain released the second Boys' Entrance CD, "In Through The out Door" to rave reviews, including a "Rock Single Of The Week" review in Billboard Magazine. Sadly, by the time the album was released, Fletcher had passed away from complications of AIDS.

Cain soldiered on with Ferro and produced "The Queer Punk Folder" in 1997, again resulting in another "Rock Single of the Week in Billboard Magazine. Cain suffered a broken pelvis that Summer and the album and career of Boys' Entrance stalled.

For the next 10 years Cain wrote songs for a variety of projects (including a musical based on "Lolita".) In 2006 he began recording with Timmy Samuel, (drummer on "The Queer Punk Folder" and producer of Cain's solo tribute to Princess Diana, "FLASH".) Seven songs into the project, the two produced a 10th Anniversary edition of the FLASH single (FLASH '07). Three months later, Cain's Father passed away. Devastated by the loss, Cain shelved the sessions. Though the writing never stopped.

In 2010, Cain released "DEMOcrat Vol. 1- Songs from Tunnelvision"- a double album of demos from the preceeding decade. He also prepped two more DEMOcrat discs. Vol. 2 was a double album of instrumentals, and Vol. 3 was a collection of cover tunes. It remains to be seen if these will yet see the light of day.

Cain moved to Florida in 2012, and quickly established ties in the vibrant musical community of the Tampa Bay area. He met the incredible Jaybo Key- who is himself a descendant of Francis Scott Key. Jaybo is a legend in the music community in Florida, and He immediately resonated with the vibe of the songs that became "Tunnelvision". Cain met and married multi-instrumentalist, Billy Ramsey who plays bass and guitars in the band. John Spinelli joined up as our drummer, and backing vocals are ably handled by Gretchen Tancredi. Check out her amazing vocals on "Devastation Suite"! Three songs on the album were co-written with Brett Basil, who has sometimes played with the band.

Cain completed "Tunnelvision" over a three year period, self-financing the project. After ten years, "Tunnelvision" is finally released. A double album, "Tunnelvision is a Rock Opera in 17 songs. It chronicles the arch of the doomed relationship of Tim and Troy and the devastation left in its wake in the age of AIDS. The musical is in the early stages of development at a theatre company in St. Petersburg, FL.
