Album Notes
Kokoro- Ancestral Trails:

A ground breaking meeting of Indian classical singing and traditional Australian didgeridoo. The spiritual sympathy between these cultures is revealed with poignant significance. Branan & Sanshi ply their skills to weave a shamanic tapestry of new and ancient songs, wild improvisations and trance-inductive rhythms. From deep prayer to organic euphoria.

In 2011, Australian-born Dhrupad singer Branan Dubh collaborated with Japanese-born didg player 'Sanshi' to create a unique genre of acoustic world music which combined traditional Indian raga with eclectic and progressive rhythm cycles, with a strong emphasis on impro and spontaneity. The fruit of this confluence is this album which continues the ancient aboriginal linage of didg and vocal from a new global perspective.
