ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This mix of songs features Rob Lindfors on guitar and Carole Miguel on vocals. Several tunes feature Rob Baker on bass, Doug Kleiber on drums and Jason Kenyon on drums.

CAROLE MIGUEL, vocals, loves the songs of both the great American and Brazilian songbooks. A native of Oakland, Calif., where her dad was a band leader in the early days of jazz, she was greatly influenced by him and by the songs and singers of that era. Carole has had casual gigs both in Hawaii, where she lived for many years, as well as in Seattle. She’s performed on a regular basis with two big bands, the Sound of Swing and the Jet City Jazz Band, also known as the Boeing Band. Recently she was invited to sing at the Acton Jazz Cafe just outside Boston which was listed as one of Downbeat’s top 100 international jazz clubs. Most of her Brazilian repertoire is sung in Portuguese. .

ROB LINDFORS, guitar, is our arranger/musical director. He is a trained music teacher who has taught guitar, piano, orchestra, and Composing with Music Technology in Bellevue public schools, and has served as an affiliate faculty member in guitar instruction at Bellevue College where he also has taught Continuing Education courses in guitar and general music. Rob’s current teaching assignment includes elementary classroom music (K-4), and working with these young students has been especially rewarding for him. He has a Bachelor of Music, cum laude, in Jazz Studies and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Known as a jazz guitarist, Rob can teach all styles but specializes in jazz and blues improvisation, chord melody and chord soloing, chord/bass comping, music theory, and composition.
