Album Notes
Woodley Taylor, an emerging artist; singer/songwriter, composer and story teller from Cambridge.

With refreshing authenticity and integrity beyond his years, the singer/songwriter and musical craftsman strikes a masterful balance between poignant, powerful songwriting and unforgettably hooking melodies.

A timeless sound; a now rare breed of Classic Rock, Country and Folk infused Art-Rock, both lyrically compelling and musically challenging.
With a powerhouse live sound built on thunderous rhythms and a husky, soulful vocal, Woodley Taylor delivers weeping guitar and harmony driven songs. Communicating with the audience sonically, he brings an almost David Gilmour/Pink Floyd-esque touch to an otherwise Country, Folk-Rock sound.
At times intoxicating; seductive, not without angst and as emotionally fuelled as the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Nick Cave or Neil Young. Woodley Taylor is heavily influenced by the greats of the 60s and 70s and draws inspiration for songwriting from both harrowing personal, emotional experiences and a growing distaste for modern cultures.

Seemingly irreverent of “current” trends or movements in contemporary music, Woodley Taylor stays faithful to both his music influences and personal beliefs, and does not compromise anywhere on the musicality, meaning or purpose of the art form.

Despite honing in on conceptual and emotive performances, the Woodley Taylor show packs bounds of grit, power, boyish energy and a sense of the traditional, good time rock and roll spirit of old.
Woodley Taylor is mostly joined on stage by his full live band and deliver an enigmatic, adventurous and honest rock spectacle that is hard to come by.

“Breathe A Little Deeper” my debut album, encompasses both the need for us all to breathe a little deeper today, on a personal and inward trajectory; to think and to feel deeper, to learn empathy and compassion, embrace the joy’s of life we often dismiss, but also outwardly into the world around us. I hope that this album can serve many an interpretation and take on more than just my own concept as to what it means to breathe a little deeper, but to ignite some kind of fire in the belly of the beholder and help tell their own, unique and individual story.
Although I am a young man, I have always been old before my time, a blessing in most respects. I hope the sounds and inspirations of old that you will find on this record will be able find you today, in a living, breathing and invigorating new delivery, for the old dog can always learn new tricks.

Feeling, at times; oppressed, suppressed and typically downbeat as a result of both my circumstances, the society in which we live in and indeed my own life choices to this point, the album also acts as the soapbox to which I stand and have expressed both positive and negatively about my concerns, fears and issues with the world. Read into that how you will.
The inspiration for most of the tracks on this album have come from both personal experiences, albeit harrowing, or saddening, but also many joyous and hopeful moments in the young years I’ve had so far, but also an almost fictional version of the world
my wandering mind conjures; my imagination’s hopes and desires for the future and the paths to which they may take us.

Recording my debut album "Breathe A Little Deeper" at Perry Road Studios has been one incredible journey.
This album is something I am both hugely proud of, have worked extremely hard with and am deeply connected to. One hopes you will find the same value, connection, and meaning somewhere within. Along side my wonderful producer Greg Stephenson,
and with the captivating harmonies provided by my partner Charlotte, I have created something I believe captures the sense of the traditional, good time rock & roll spirit of old, but is also poignant and relevant today, for both myself, and you, and the world as we know it.

I hope over the next hour you may or may not spend listening to this record, I can share with you all a little
insight into what it means to "Breathe A Little Deeper”. Lay back, put the record on like you’d used to and doing nothing else, just listen.
