ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"I'm still curious", the new 12 song lp, produced and engineered by the band, is truly a headphone worthy labor of love. The sound is at times lush and ethereal and at other times sharply focused and heart pumpingor stripped down and intimate. Claire Hamilton, the voice of the band has been compared to Chrissie Hynde and Neko Case but has a sound completely her own. Gary Newcomb (Lil' Capn' Travis) played an important role in the shaping of the new sound. His production and instrumentation (pedal steel, guitar, Casio, melodica, bass) gave certain songs ambiance and depth and he cut the fat off others to let them rock. Bill Doughtys' understated yet unconventional approach to to the drums and quick open mind as an engineer pulled everything together to make a cohesive ,spacious sound. Landis Armstrong (Smallstars, Paula Nelson, The El Orbits) a long time collaborator with Hamilton, made weighty contributions with his well known and loved, super classic guitar sound. The band has created a live show that successfully combines the lush, sparse, and driving elements of the record. It would be difficult to pin an era on the style because it would be best described as timeless.
