Album Notes
Indeedin You Needn't Bother is Brenda's much anticipated debut solo album.

Brenda comes from a rich background of Traditional Irish music in Meath. Growing up, there was plenty of music and dancing in the house. Her father Noel plays banjo and her mother Lily has been known to participate in the odd set dance. Younger siblings Emily and Paul play fiddle and uileann pipes.

At the age of five, Brenda was sent to learn music from neighbour Rena Traynor (née Crotty) first on tin whistle and later on concertina. When Rena passed away, Brenda started lessons with one of Rena's former pupils, concertina maestro Mícheál Ó'Raghallaigh. At the same time she took over Rena's younger students and has been teaching concertina and tin whistle ever since.

Brenda has several All-Ireland Fleadh titles to her name both in solo and group competitions. Music has brought her around the world to far flung destinations including Hong Kong, Iceland and even Mongolia. She is just back from a series of concerts in New York and is currently based in Dublin city centre where she regularly performs and teaches music.

Indeedin You Needn't Bother is fourteen tracks of concertina music at it's finest featuring accompaniment by Eoghan Scott, Tony Byrne and Paul Browne on guitar along with Meath's Seána Davey on harp and Tony Quinn on bodhrán.

I have listened to this CD several times now and the more I listen the better it gets. The mix of instruments and variety of rhythm and sounds are fantastic and make each track a joy to listen to. From swaying to tapping your feet to wanting to get up and do a jig its a great CD all around. Highly recommend.
