ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
How many overproduced albums have you listened to, only to be underwhelmed at the live show? This modern day absence of accountability led Irish native Brendan Loughrey to record an album that delivers the same passionate, sometimes vicious but always authentic performance audiences have come to expect at his live shows over the years. The resulting album, "To Those Who Fell", features some of the most poignant, significant songs of Ireland’s unrelenting struggle for sovereignty against British Imperialism.

Brendan began his music career at an early age and soon found himself following in the footsteps of the artists who inspired him, Christy Moore and Tommy Makem, on the road performing in just about every pub, club and venue in Ireland. Prompted to cross the pond by a prestigious position as the house musician at the famous Seanachie Irish Pub in Nashville, TN, Brendan quickly garnered the attention of other Irish venues across the US. Traveling to Chicago, Brendan formed the powerful Celtic rock trio Bluestack, releasing 6 CDs including "Last Set of the Night", voted No. 12 Album of the Year by Paddy Rock Radio Listeners. In 2012 Brendan returned to his roots as a solo acoustic performer, a platform that better allowed him to deliver his unique brand of emotionally charged, passionate Irish music.

"To Those Who Fell" features five of Brendan’s original songs as well as fifteen of Ireland’s most treasured and emotive songs recorded as they were written and intended to be, timeless stories of truth, rebellion and bravery. Brendan’s powerhouse vocals and stunning guitar work coupled with his pure, unaltered recording style allow the listener to feel the emotion behind the song, stripped bare of anything other than the inherent purity of the song itself. Before the last note echoes in your ears you will have clapped your hands, stomped your feet, sang aloud, pounded your fist in the air and maybe even felt a little nostalgic. This is why these tunes will always matter, this is, "To Those Who Fell".
