ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Some years ago, S Brent Bowers, the enigmatic front man of established Carolina regional southern alt rock trio, Absolute Zero decided that his backlog of song material had grown too large. Gathering the tunes of the past decade that simply did not fit with AZ's hard edged sound, he aligned some talented musicians from around the area and decided to release his first solo effort featuring his favorite self penned titles. The result was, “Faster.”

Reviewers have drawn comparisons to early U2, The Beatles and Elvis Costello.

This album was recorded at Snug Record Studios in Salisbury, North Carolina between 2011 – 2013.

Brent recalls: What a long trip it is has been through many tracking sessions and more hours mixing than I'm sure, studio owner/operator/engineer Eddie Snuggs wants to recall. The environment at Snug Records Studio was much like a comfortable bedroom, imploring me to pick this or that amazing vintage guitar or bass, or to try out yet another one of Eddie's amazing tube amps. A man could could lost in such a realm and for a time, I'm sure I did.

Some years ago I had this crazy notion to release an album of material that didn't exactly fit the style of rock band. These songs herein were written over 20 some odd years and assemble more with the songwriting in mind rather than a cohesive album concept. Originally titled, “Tight Pop Package” due to the many brief pop songs included, I decided to take the final title from the only track that brings any sort of important message, “Faster.” To some degree, “Fluoridate The Fauna,” written by my friend, Eric Cook carries the same message. We only have one blue rock to call home. It's need our care, so let's not all be assholes and trash the planet.

The rest is the typical heartbreak inspired, boy finds girl, boy loses girl fair of my youth. I hope enjoy it and can relate to it on some level. Hopefully we have made a number of love songs for the not so hearing impaired, if Dan Baird will forgive me.

Special Thanks: First and foremost, this album simply would not be the same without the kind contributions of these wonderful artists. Joy Almond, Todd A. Britt, Donnie Christianson, Eric Cook, Jodi Essex, Tim Galloway, Brad Hord, Eric Morris and Eddie Snuggs. Thank you all for staying the course with me to see this project to fruition.
