Sing Praises

by Brian Barlow

Singable, fun, and sometimes reflectively devotional Scripture songs -- words borrowed directly from the Bible, with just a bit of 'poetic license' here and there, expressing unashamed gratitude and praise to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Album Notes
As stated on the inner sleeve of "Sing Praises", this CD is a collection of songs written over the course of 30 years. The songs were born in a variety of contexts. Some of the tunes were created to help my own children and/or students to more easily memorize a Bible verse or passage. Others are personal offerings of praise to God. Still others emerged out of times of meditation on the love and mercy given to me through the amazing grace of my Lord, Jesus Christ.
As with my first CD, Unashamed, you may hear traces and echoes of some of my musical influences, such as The Beach Boys, The Beatles, James Taylor, Chuck Girard, Rich Mullins, Ray Charles, and others. Although in more recent years I have become a fan of solo piano and other forms of instrumental music, I am always drawn back to my roots of vocal harmonies, of which much of this album consists. 'Sing Praises' is also more up-tempo and less reflective than my first work. The most common feedback I have received to date is that the disc is "fun" and "very listen-able."
It is my hope and prayer that you too will have an uplifting experience, as you listen to and sing these songs of praise to the One who created us primarily for that purpose -- to borrow a phrase, " glorify God and to enjoy Him forever." So...sing praises!
