The Breaking

by Brian Green

"The Breaking" spans acoustic roots genres, and is in turns playful, sombre, reflective. Contributors from rockabilly to folk add their touches to lyrically-centred songs to create original music that sounds traditional, with just a hint of rock n' roll.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brian Green is a songwriter in British Columbia, Canada, where he performs alone, with his partner, Megan, and occasionally with the band Lone Crow Jubilee. On "The Breaking", Green is joined by a number of musicians, known and unknown, most notably Paul Pigat, a veritable sensation in the rockabilly world, and Nathan Tinkham, formerly of the Ian Tyson band.

It's original music that feels traditional - sometimes straight-up country; sometimes old school folk, sometimes rootsy rock'n'roll. All the time it emphasizes a strong lyrical base - storytelling, reflection, dialogue.
