Album Notes
Land of the Midday Moon is the first of nine cds recorded by singer/songwriter Brian K. Jones. He calls his music Cowgrass,, an energetic blend of classic cowboy music, bluegrass, folk, country music, rock and roll and anything else he wants to throw in. A graduate of the University of Alaska, Brian worked in geologic exploration camps throughout the state for years. Most of these songs were written in camps from 1973 to 1984. In 1983 Brian entered the downhill canoe race at the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous. About half way down the hill the canoe collided with another competitor, streaked beneath a rope and finished with an unknown women in the middle of his canoe. He finished second. The experience inspired Brian's Fur Rendezvous Song, which was purchased by this spectacular Alaskan winter festival and was used as their theme song for about ten years. Land of the Midday Moon is a work of pure inspiration. Brian knows you'll enjoy it.
