The realm of progressive rock music never seems to stop producing quality stuffs and another exciting record which already available for world wide viewing is an outing from guitar maestro, Brian Maillard, titled “Reincarnation”. On this album, Brian really provides an exciting progressive-rock pieces that really sounded excellent as he also inserted several different musical element on some of his tracks to create a well-blend rocking stuffs.
Although he might not that well known as just yet, but Brian really showcased such quality performance on “Reincarnation” as he doesn’t only show such expertise in executing those progressive-rock tunes, but also expressing his emotions along with technical prowess with exciting chops, solos and riffs. For aspiring guitar players and prog fans who are keen with this genre, this album will definitely bring tons of pleasure as the Dominici band’s axeman managed to produce an exciting record. Right from the start, music lovers can immediately discover that prog vibe, especially when they tune in to the second track, ‘The Pentagon’ which might reminds some rockers with some of Dream Theater’s classic stuffs.
The guitar maestro’s composition in “Reincarnation” is really something worth praising as his ability in combining such complicated stuffs without eliminating any melodic element on his works is a treat indeed. Listening to songs like ‘The Irish Times’, ‘Evergreen’, ‘Bulldog Ants’ kind of like riding a fun-thrilling roller coaster as there’s just plenty different emotions, feel and musical styles being blended into one. Even the more ballad tracks such as, ‘Another Life’, ‘Reincarnation’ or ‘ Hallelujah’ also provides several surprising atmosphere in a musical sense, where Brian managed to display the soulful touch of every melodies on those songs.
Being aided with several top notch musicians on this record, including the likes of, Marco Minneman (Drums), Brian Beller (Bass) and others, it’s no surprise that Brian Maillard was able to produce an exciting instrumental record. ‘Reincarnation’ is truly a fine musical work that many of those who haven’t heard of of Brian will be surprised with what he crafted on that record. This album is not just something that can only be enjoyed by avid Prog-rock maniacs, but any music fans and guitar heads shouldn’t have any issues in digesting this enjoyable rocking tunes.
