ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brian Maskew was born in Yorkshire, with a love of music and the outdoors given him by his mother, who played accordion, and his father, who painted landscapes in England's Lake District and the Scottish Highlands. In his college days, Brian led the song sessions at local pubs, building a strong repertoire of traditional ballads. A lifelong career as a hydrodynamicist -- analyzing designs of everything from racing yachts to submarines - exposed him to nautical lore, and yet more songs. Brian now travels the folk music circuits of the Pacific Northwest, with an occasional foray back to the British Isles. He also gives workshops on sea shanties and nautical traditions. This is Brian's debut album, featuring his favorite songs from decades of singing.
