Good God, I Love This Album!
Ever since getting my cd in the mail on May 16, it has not left my cd player. I wish I'd known about this boy a long time ago. He's the goods. Beautiful songs sung with conviction. I've gotten to see him live twice already at the Hotel Cafe and I can't wait to see him again. By the way, a little side note, when he was doing "Down Town Eloise" he > into Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and I just stood there with the biggest smile on my face. I wanted to see if he could do it...then he takes out a couple of papers from his pocket with the lyrics written on them. No matter, that's a tough song to sing no matter how many times you listen to it and practice. He is such a cutie and this cd is, to me, one of the greatest debut cd's ever. It's one of those albums where it's so good you want everyone to hear it, but at the same time it's so good that you want to keep it your little secret for a little while longer. I definitely can't wait for his next album!

fantastic roots-folk-country-rock stew
When I heard Joe Purdy and Brian Wright do one of Brian's songs at a Joe Purdy show, I was stunned by its beauty. This album's arrangements (banjo, strings and mandolin are heard) are right up the alley of any lover of traditional roots-rock/folk music. Great melodies, moving and personal lyrics. Falls County will make you weep, and Dog Ears as a whole will make you wait for Brian's next album, eagerly. I am NOT trying to make a qualitative comparison of artists, but if you're browsing this website and are considering buying this album, and you like music along the lines of Bob Dylan, Joe Purdy, Ryan Adams, Mason Jennings and Sean Hayes, you will LOVE Brian Wright. It sticks with you. Buy will not regret it.

One of the few bands that are original. They are going to be Huge.

Right on Son
You are on the brink of massive acceptance and recognition. Keep doing your thing.

Fantastic album, as good as watching Brian live
The album is fun, with great guitar and great vocals

Michelle in the High Desert

It's that good.
Saw you at Pappy and Harriet's; thanks for coming to the desert. I was expecting to see decent groups; instead, I saw a great artist. You create noticeable good energy through your music. While listening to Dog Ears, I'd gladly deal with 3 hrs of LA traffic to see another show. Great album, great music.

Wonderful Album
I love it! If you like Joe Purdy then you will love Brian Wright! Brian Wright's Dog Ears can be enjoyed over and over again.... I never get tired of it!

I recommend it!
I enjoy this CD. Great song writing combined with great vocals and great musicians and it's hard to miss. You can see Brian do Falls County on YouTube.

great cd
caught these guys at the hotel cafe in hollywood and had to have the cd. i love every song except 'bird on a wire'. great album from a great band. to me, these guys are a lot like wilco (with a little bit rougher edges). in other words, they are awesome.

Dog Ears
I saw Brain Wright and the Waco Tragedies this summer in Charlotte NC and loved his music. I got the Bluebird CD that night and ordered Dog Ears the next week. I am his number one fan. His enthusiasm equals his talent. Can\'t wait to see you again, Bryan!
