Album Notes

This is Dr. Daniel Amen and I am so excited to share a special music program that will enhance your brain and your life! There is significant research suggesting that both learning to play music and listening to certain types of music can enhance your memory and mood and lower blood pressure and stress.

This program is designed by my friend Best Selling Author and Composer Barry Goldstein, whose Multi Award Winning Productions have been used with Rock Icon’s, New York Times Bestselling Authors, Motivational Leaders, and medical experts throughout the world.

Music is important and can make a significant difference in your brain health and your life. This album utilizes scientific research and groundbreaking music that may enhance your focus, memory, creativity and sleep. All four musical selections are between 10 – 20 minutes long which will allow you more time to entrain and synchronize to the desired brain wave state.

The First Music track on this Cd Is …Focus Freely.

Research has indicated that certain elements can be incorporated into music to make it highly successful in attaining a focused state. These factors include:
• Music that contains nature sounds
• Specific tempos and rhythms that target a focused state
• Music that is enjoyable but non distracting
• Music without lyrics

We have incorporated all of these elements into “Focus Freely” a beautiful musical journey scored with gentle ocean waves, acoustic guitars, cascading flutes, serene orchestration and entrancing rhythms.
Incorporate it into your day to free yourself of mind chatter and to increase clarity.

It is the perfect 10-minute musical program to restore and rejuvenate the focus you need throughout your day

You can play this music to mask distractions in your work area and improve the overall feeling of your environment or you can listen with headphones to optimize the technology of binaural beats that is used in this piece, which allows you to entrain to a focused brain wave state.

Our 2nd music composition is titled “The Creative Spark”

Recent findings indicate that creativity and optimal brain function have been linked together!

There are many benefits to the creative process including:

• Improved focus and concentration
• Decreased symptoms of depression
• Reduction of anxiety and stress
• Elevated positive emotions

A groundbreaking new study indicated that creativity was higher in participants who listened to “Happy Music. The study asserts “Music listening can be easily integrated into daily life and may provide an innovative means to facilitate creative cognition in an efficient way in various scientific, educational and organizational settings when creative thinking is needed.”

This positive and uplifting music composition will give you the inspiration to ignite your creative spark. Most creativity starts with a single idea and develops into something more tangible that can be shared in the world. This is expressed musically as the peaceful opening melodies lure the listener to fan their creative flames. As your musical voyage continues and expands, exhilarating orchestral arrangements, epic drums, world percussion and uplifting voices surround you. The perfect sonic tapestry to weave into your day to birth your next creative endeavor.
3) The third music piece is called Positive Peacefulness

I am so excited to share with you that recent research is unveiling great potential in utilizing music as a rehabilitation tool for episodic memory deficits.

There are many factors in our life that can create symptoms of memory loss.

Among them are basic chronic stress, being overwhelmed by too much information, distractions, multi tasking and lack of sleep

Numerous studies have shown that music can reduce stress and even lower the production of the stress hormones in our bodies. It can also help us recover from stress by assisting our autonomic nervous system.

In our high paced, fast moving world the musical piece “Positive Peacefulness” is the perfect antidote to relieve stress, release mind chatter and move to a more peaceful state. This piece incorporates heart entrainment, which is a technology that utilizes the tempo within music to synchronize our hearts to a targeted heart rate. This composition incorporates a slower tempo to induce a calming affect. As our heart rates reach this targeted state our brain waves slow down as well, allowing restoration and recuperation to occur.

Surrender to the heart-opening pianos, ethereal musical textures, and the positive and calming affect of this beautiful instrumental journey. Plug this song into your day to improve your brain state and address the negative factors that may inhibit your memory.

4) Our last harmonic journey is “Sleep Serenity”

Insomnia affects between 50- 70 million Americans alone and sleep does affect memory. Research is greatly broadening and implicating that forming long-term memories represents a general function of sleep.

Additional studies have shown that middle-aged adults who sleep less than 6-8 hours per night are at risk for decline in brain function.
Sleeping challenges can happen when disturbances occur in our internal biological clocks. These clocks are called circadian rhythms. Music can be the perfect bridge to help us reset these rhythms. Multiple studies confirm that music can help you fall asleep faster and achieve deeper sleep. In addition, music with a tempo of 60-80 beats per minute; a slow constant rhythm, low frequency tones and calm relaxing melodies can assist in addressing sleep disorders.
All of these criteria are included in “Sleep Serenity”. This composition also contains a groundbreaking new technology that can entrain your heart and brain to a more relaxed state without headphones.
Use this “Acousticeutical” nightly to transition from your active day into sleep- filled nights!
