Christmas Has A Way

by Brittany Allyn

Arrangements of holiday favorites like “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas” and “Let it Snow”, as well as the sure to become classic, “December” are reminiscent of the Bing Crosby /Nat King Cole era of Christmas albums. As a writer on some of the more contemporary cuts, Brittany conveys the range of emotions the holiday season holds from fun and joy to loneliness and even forgiveness as in the touching title track, “Christmas Has a Way”. The Nativity is beautifully recounted in the soul stirring “One Night in Bethlehem”, destined to be a Christmas carol for ages to come. This delightful collection captures the Message, the magic and the sentiment of the season - steeped in tradition and timeless appeal.

Album Notes
It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas
“Soon the bells will start…and the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart”.
This holiday classic sets the mood for the season. The charming arrangement will have your heart singing as you trim your tree, do your shopping, and dream of home and family in the days ahead.

Christmas Dreamin’
The arrival of a Christmas card can take the listener back home, if only in mind, to the Christmas’ of their childhood.

Jingle Bells/Over the River
Tim Buppert and Ray Barnette join Brittany to sing this festive medley of two traditional carols. One for the young, or young at heart, it’s two minutes and thirty-nine seconds of galloping, gliding winter fun.

“I hope December brings you back to me…”
A classic in the making, this contemplative look at longing for the return of a lost love is moving any month of the year, but even more so at Christmas. Producer Chris Nole pays tribute to an era gone by while at the same time creating a brilliantly fresh foundation for Brittany’s heartfelt vocal. Chris Nole (piano) and Jack Pearson (guitar) solo to this late night, alone by the fire wistful track.

The Santa Claus Boogie
This self –penned tune depicts a rollicking good time with the jolly old elf himself. Jim Horn (saxophone) and Doug Grieves( guitar) will take you to a sock hop with Santa and then some!

Christmas Has a Way
Brittany touches on emotions that hit home for so many of us during the holiday season, as we recall the magical Christmas’ of childhood, how families sometimes drift apart and the power of forgiveness. When it comes to reuniting friends and family, “more than any other day, Christmas has a way…”

Let it Snow
Flirtatious winter romance is delightfully captured in this holiday favorite. Producer Chris Nole provides a lively Beach Boys meets Ray Coniff and The Singers vocal arrangement.

One Night in Bethlehem
Brittany’s soul stirring performance of what is destined to be a Christmas carol for ages to come recounts the miraculous Christmas story. Paul Carrol Binkley’s intuitive production and elegant string arrangement are the perfect foundation for Brittany’s dynamic vocal, conveying the magnitude yet simplicity of the Biblical text.

The Snow Lay on the Ground
Brittany shares a traditional carol from her childhood. The Latin “Venite Adoremus Dominum” invites the listener to "Come adore the King". Paul Carrol Binkley’s acoustic guitar tracks whisper hints of the songs Irish origin creating a powerful exchange with the jubilant cathedralesque vocals.

Silent Night (Sveta Noc)
Brittany sings this intimate lullaby in both English and Slovenian. As a young girl, Brittany would sing the carol in the language of her ancestors in church each Christmas Eve. Paul Carrol Binkley (nylon string guitar), Chris Nole (piano), Dow Tomlin (fretless bass) and David Henry (cello) provide the delicate accompaniment to this inspiring performance.

Started searching for new Christmas music since it gets to be the same after awhile. My wife and I heard an interview online about this one and had to check it out. Just bought it and we are pleasantly surprised. Refreshing to hear new Christmas songs, and traditional ones done with a different sound. It sounds like she feels the music. Her voice is amazing.

It is very warm Christmas album
I bought a CD.
I listened many times.
Her singing voice makes it happy.

Brittany Allyn's making the Holidays even better!
I fell in love with Brittany Allyn's Like A Butterfly album, so I researched this one. It has the same wonderful Holiday feel, but with her twist. Not just her vocals, but the song choices. It has a selection of traditional songs that moves you into the Christmas spirit, but the original ones are so unique and heartfelt it's like she's reached into everyone's home for the Holidays and told our stories. "Jingle Bells/Over the River" combination is so clever and fun. A traditional song brought out of the background listening to actually paying attention. "Christmas Dreamin' " Living far away from family - homesick, but reminiscing of the time of year when everyone is together again with family traditions and not a care in the world. "Christmas Has a Way" - true for so many. Reality of families becoming distant and missing the days when one was a child and everything was perfect. The thought - Christmas Has a Way of changing the mind-set of what's truly important. "Santa Claus Boogie". Typical Brittany Style. Jazzy little song that puts a bounce in your step and a smile on your face. You cannot help but sing along to this one. This artist has a way of taking you on a journey of emotions, that after you hear the entire CD, you feel like you've just received the comforting hug from your Grandmother. From the standard "Silent Night" sung in Slovanian to her original songs, this CD will soon be a Christmas tradition.
