ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Brooklyn Women's Chorus was founded and is directed by singer/songwriter Bev Grant. A veteran of the Women's Liberation Movement, fighter for peace and justice for all, Bev formed the chorus in the late 90s with the firm belief that any woman can sing. This CD includes several of her own songs and tells stories about women fighting domestic violence in Africa and here in the US, celebrates soccer-playing grandmothers in South Africa, addresses recovery and the power of song. This is a live recording of a sold out concert at the beautiful BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in Manhattan in March of 2014.
