Album Notes
A blues based singer songwriter with influences ranging from Eric Clapton to Jackson Browne. A guitar style that was molded by the great blues interpreters, Duane Allman, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton & Carlos Santana, and later, the styles of jazz influenced players like Larry Carlton and Pat Metheny. Vocally, Bruce would find inspiration from the melodic styles of Jackson Browne, James Taylor & Donald Fagen.

"I've always generally written songs about periods in my life that left a lasting impression. Relationships, of course, interesting people I've come across in my life, those inevitable troubling times and a world filled with injustice all provide an endless supply of subject matter."

At the age of 7, Bruce wanted to play guitar so badly that he made his own guitar out of a coffee can & a couple of pieces of scrap wood. Bruce's love affair with the guitar would continue into adulthood helped along by his parents' tolerance of over 15 bands that would pass through the basement. He went on to appear onstage with an array of talented players, including members of Paul McCartney's Wings & Tower of Power.

"Hudson River Anthology" is the follow up to Bruce's 2012 release "Go Back," a collection of songs featuring former Wings drummer Steve Holley, Ian Hunter bassist Paul Page, DownTown Mystic guitarist/vocalist Robert Allen and several other guest musicians.

"…Engler is much more than a killer guitarist - he's also an accomplished songwriter with a full voice and a clear sense of melody and song structure." - TotallyAdult
