Guilford Project

by Bruce Gertz Quintet

This is a killer group of musicians that are professors at Berklee College of Music performing eight original compositions by the award winning composer, bassist Bruce Gertz, and two tunes by Dino Govoni and Casey Sheeuerell. The sound is sensational.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bruce Gertz is a well known bassist, composer, author and educator. Here he has assembled an all-star cast of players and colleagues. We all teach at Berklee College of Music. This recording was the result of a recording grant residency at Guilford Sound in Guilford, Vermont. The group was put up in a beautiful Earth House for seven days with access to the state of the art, studio for up to ten hours per day. Our engineer, Andy Edelstein, also a professor at Berklee captured all the sounds and the result is stellar. It's such a privilege to have an entire week in the forest of Vermont with great friends and players and to have so much time for the music. We had a very memorable week and the music reflects the great energy and vibe we shared. Visit http://www.brucegertz.com to see photos from that beautiful week. Enjoy this gem!
