ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This music is original Americana Folk Country flavored sad and not sad snippets of life full of ups and downs.

Bruce Muckala is a songwriter living in the US. He started playing professionally at the age of eighteen as the guitarist in a 4-piece rock & roll band, later moving on to a Chicago/Blood Sweat & Tears style group and then to smaller acoustic duos and solo guitar gigs.

He has been writing songs for most of his adult life, from Traditional Country, Country-Rock to Folk. The songs here are adult oriented and are in the folk, country-folk and country-rock genres and also what is often referred to nowadays as Americana.

"Older Now is a project begun with the thought of having old and new friends
contribute their many talents," Muckala relates. "Along the way I asked other singers and musicians I admired to join in. I hope you enjoy it."

Thanks to all the fine friends and musicians who lent their wonderful talents.

Kelly McGuire at Midnight Hour Studios did a great job mixing and Robert Hadley at The Mastering Lab did a superb job mastering it.

Hindsight
Bruce and I have been friends for a very long! We played in our first bands together drifting in and out of each ot
each other's lives but always shared our musical interest, songs and artists. When the chance to collaborate on a little side project with him and another former band mate, Perry Windecker I jumped at it. I thought one our two songs apiece and the fun of talking about it in our old age. I came up with one song, Perry three and Bruce five, it was shocking how good his songs were and when I listening to it now what a really great song writer he is! Perry's song are great and mine just a three chord basher but Bruce's, WOW! The song he wrote for our little project were the priming of the pump for this album and with help from various talented artists from coast to coast he created an album that stands toe to toe with anything (in my opinion) out of LA or Nashville! Call me biased but listen for yourself and make up your own mind! I don't think you will be disappointed! If you find that you like it give his to follow up albums a listen, another is also in the works! Enjoy these recordings and enjoy your life! It's always richer with great music!

Very nice
There seems to be something about Minnesota that causes the best musicians to flock here (Leo Kottke, Tim Sparks, Phil Heywood to name a few). Bruce Muckala and friends are certainly no exception to that fact. There are some great tunes here played by a great band. Don't let the cover photo fool you, this isn't music from the depression era. This is a great collection of new tunes played by a very capable band. The recording and mixdown are also excellent. Have a listen. You won't be disappointed.
