Album Notes
This song burst from my heart as I was walking along the Gulf of Mexico and smelled the tell-tale odor of kerosene and realized it was coming form the BP disaster. I immediately started repeating to myself "they killed the Gulf of Mexico".
I gort home and wrote the lyrics and music in thirty minutes. I recorded it two days later and HAD to get it out!

Personal musician's perspective
This song captures the heartbeat of America. Although the oil spill is a grave tragedy, perhaps this song will inspire some people to join the cleanup effort. Bruce Tetley has been producing unqiue, and vibrant music for 4 decades, and his song "Dodging a Hurricane", won Best Folk/Rock song of the year in Florida 5 years ago. His "Blue Eyed Sole" CD is truly excellent! Bruce has a tradition of Blues, Rock, and Folk in Syracuse, NY, and his bands Homegrown, Out of The Blue, and most recently, Bues Impressions, has attracted many followers. I am one of his best friends, and fans too.
