Album Notes
Mark Bruland was born in Detroit, and at age three began playing by ear and composing on an old upright grand player piano in his basement. Inspired by artists playing Motown, rock and blues, Mark cut his musical path listening to the Beatles, Temptations and B.B. King.

Now living in southwest Wisconsin and raising their two daughters on Appley Ever After Farm, Mark and his wife Nancy enjoy working in their apple orchard, blueberry and raspberry patch, picking asparagus, tending to their honeybees, making maple syrup, and collecting colorful brown and green eggs from their organic laying hens.

Wisconsin Dawn was written and recorded during most of the 2003-2004 winter months (while their farm was at rest, buried in snow). It is new age meditative music featuring strong melodies and an ambient feel. Mark utilizes a Roland XP-60 workstation, a Boss BR-8 digital recording studio, Boss DR-770 rhythm machine and an acoustic Takamine guitar. He can be e-mailed at mark.bruland@organicvalley.com and always appreciates your opinions, suggestions and ideas.

Mark's follow up CD, HERITAGE, is now released (May 2008) and is available through CDBaby also!

After 10 days of shipping I got this CD and...
...I have heard it several times the last days. Great sounds, sometimes slow to feel thinkable, sometimes faster to give you power and thrust to catch all obstacles in the world. Yeah, I like the CD very - more I recommend it!

Captivating and enchanting !
The compositions are full-bodied and draw the listener into fertile imagery of the mind. Mark's first CD is a promising Dawn, indeed. Some of these songs would be great movie soundtrack music. Great mixture of homegrown and new age/meditative. Start working on the follow-up!

The music transports you to a different world...of relaxation and beauty...of a simpler and more peaceful time. This artist is truly gifted. I will definitely be looking for more of his offerings.
