Album Notes
In 2007, "Adversity" was nominated "Best Rap Album of 2006" by both Independent Music Awards & Just Plain Folks.

The album itself is a collection of unfortunate tales woven over hard, jazzy, underground beats.

"Adversity" is the sophomore album release from Indianapolis hip-hop group, Butterfly Toungz

In 2002, Butterfly Toungz released their first album entitled "Wide. Open. Spaces." which was acclaimed by critics & music lovers throughout the world:

“The Butterfly Toungz are two hip-hop loyalists who fold a heavy De La Soul influence into their own breezy approach,”
-Pop Writer, David Lindquist of the Indianapolis Star.

“The Butterfly Toungz totally encompass what hip-hop should be: artistically sound, unabashedly conscious, raw/rough around-the-edges and cool.”
-Music Writer, Capt. Westside of Shotgun Reviews.com.

“There are absolutely no bad tracks. Butterfly Toungz are well worth checking out, live or on record.”
-Staff Writer, Chronic of Distortion Music Magazine.

“These guys have upped the ante on quality.”
-Shotgun Reviews.com.

This time around, the Midwest duo known as...Butterfly Toungz weave a collection of tales together which focus on different examples of "Adversity." The album is a blend of rich harmonies, soulful messages & lighthearted fun.
