Album Notes
Buggin Malone announces the release of his 2nd CD on August 31, 2005. "SPIRIT WORLD" is a 14-track CD that is personal and poignant. . Buggin, a Native Hip Hop artist goes more mainstream in his message on this new CD. Still, the message for Native Americans is still there. Buggin follows up with another track on this CD from his signature "Dedication to Leonard Peltier"song with "Beat Goez On (Leonard Peltier)."

It's an awesome track featuring Keith Smith, Native traditional background vocals. Buggin produced, wrote, and mastered all the material..good stuff.

'Buggin Malone' is of Oneida and Potwatomie tribal descent. Most of his material has its roots in political activism. He began writing while incarcerated as a teen. He speaks and raps on violence and issues of Native American injustice, poverty and oppression. His songs reflect his vision of the world and his place in it. He is best known for his signature and passionate rap honoring Leonard Peltier. At the age of 30, Buggin Malone has enough life experience to write on a variety issues, and he has. He can relate to young people who have become involved in abuse and use because he's been there.

His new CD is powerful. Listen up.

Diverse lyrics
The more I listen to this CD the more I like it. It's diverse lyrically, and the artist shows great imagination muscially, his lyrics are meaningful and have a message, its not just nonsense and noise like many artists. The tribute to Leonard Peltier made my heart lift. Keith Smiths vocals are exceptional and the combination of Buggin and Keith, very moving. I do miss the muscial chemistry of Katherine Hill and Buggin I hope they do more work together in the future. I could do without the intro on this CD and the title song is well, not my favorite, however overall, this getto kid has come a long way. He's got the talent and the drive. He has kept a sense of self and a sense of humor in a very tough, unforgiving, throw away western society. I admire that. Keep the music coming Buggin.

i like this cd ithink it expresses things that he couldn't get out in just words to another person he wanted to share it with the whole world and many more....keep making the music and speaking ur mind...ur my inspiration to many things u introduced me to find out about Mr. Leonard Peltier now i am for Mr. Peltier...ChiMiigwitch.....

This artist is bumpin and hot
I was cruising around CD Baby for new releases and ran across "Spirit World" by Buggin Malone. I went to his website, and decided to buy the CD from his AIM store, same price. I just have to say that I like what I hear. The Spirit World track is very sad, but also a strong tribute to a loved one. There is nothing lost here. Koncrete Rootz is as good as anything out there, better even. So is, Dat's Gansta. This artist is rockin' and jive'n, and bumpin and hot. Go guy!

CD title lead me to a wrong conclusion
I concluded that the name of the CD lent itself to spiritual growth as an artist, that isn't the case. The CD is lacking the energy and vitality of his 1st CD. The intro by Vernon Bellcourt should never have been. No offence, but it was bad. I applaud Mr. Bellcourt for supporting this very, very talented Native artist but please stay off the CD's. The tone of most of the tracks is depressed. The words are not depressing but Buggin sounds depressed, tired, defeated, hopeless. If that's mainstream, stay off the main highway. Take the back roads.

The exception is the track for Leonard Peltier. It is
unbelievably beautiful. Keith Smith and Buggin are as one.
Very inspiring, and moving. That track alone is 5 stars.
The background vocals on the other tracks are awful. I've no doubt that the track Spirit World is a sincere attempt to honor someone that is gone and to let them know they were/are loved, however, the background vocals sound like some munchkin in a tin can from the horrid wizard of oz it ruins the message. Really bad. Buggin Malone is a very talented artist and I will continue to look forward to his new releases. As for this CD, it was worth buying just for his renewed dedication to Leonard Peltier. The journey has many roads.

Spirit World
Really like the vocals, words and messages in your recordings! I am going to listen to the tracks on your other CD now.

this is the dopest shit i've ever heard
if your native and you don't feel the beat of the music that he plays you must not be native to the bone i'm one his biggest fans

absolutely expresses emotions in us
Spirit World and Birth of a Warrior are my first introductions to Buggin. Grabbed his name off of a NAMMY list and came over to cdbaby to check him out. Bought both for my nine yr old Dine/Chippewa son and found that Buggin absolutely expresses what I wish I was able to say-the things my son should know. Spirit World I dedicate to his father who has gone before us. The Leonard song should make us all stand up and fight. His story should make you angry. Stand with with Buggin. Love him already!

Night Sky Watcher

Honest, open, true. Says it like it is without the harsh language. I let my 9 year old grandson listen to it and he is hooked! He now wants to learn more about his own Native Heritage.

Dynamic, inspirational, heartfelt, and diverse.
I enjoyed listening to Buggin Malone's new CD. It is inspirational and heartfelt. I will recommend this CD to everyone that I talk too. I can feel his emotions in each of his songs. Spirit World was a beautiful tribute, everytime I listen, it brings my own emotions to the surface. Buggin has shown his diversity with this new CD.
