Album Notes
Elizabeth's articulate and thoughtfully constructed CD will introduce you to the basics of the Alexander Technique, a method designed to improve posture, reduce stress and create greater comfort in everyday movements. After listening to a brief introduction, you can move on to the "Chair Lesson," an 15-minute segment designed to clarify everyday movements. You can then enjoy the 19-minute "Floor Lesson," which guides you through gentle movements and simple stretches. The result is relaxation, calm and greater flexibility. The lessons are paced appropriately to allow for integration of the information so that you bring the knowledge into everyday life. The lessons can be repeated multiple times for greater depth of understanding or simply for refreshment and relaxation.

Elizabeth A. Buonomo was introduced to the Alexander Technique at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where she received her bachelor's degree. She was inspired to become an Alexander teacher because of her love of movement and a desire to work with her hands. Since 1993 when Elizabeth completed a three-year teacher certification program at the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City, she has had a private practice in Bergen County, New Jersey. Elizabeth receives referrals from physicians; physical, occupational and speech therapists; and performing arts teachers.

Elizabeth has taught extensively in Austria, as well as in Japan and Switzerland. In addition to her Alexander work, Elizabeth earned a masters degree in social work from Fordham University in New York City. She is also experienced in dance and the movement arts. Elizabeth is a member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). AmSAT-certified teachers are highly trained professionals who have completed 1600-hour training programs over a period of three years.
